PHILADELPHIA — Jan. 29, 2025 — “We’re comin’ to your town; we’ll help you party it down; we’re an American band.” Philadelphia rock ’n’ roll fans will hear these well-known lyrics when Grand Funk Railroad stops at Rivers Casino in Fishtown.

Grand Funk Railroad, one of the top rock groups of the 1970s, brings the American Band Tour to The Event Center on Saturday, May 17. Concert tickets are on sale now, starting at $29. Showtime is 8 p.m.

The high-energy five-piece group features original founding members Don Brewer (vocals and drums, writer and singer of the multimillion-selling hit “We’re An American Band”) and bassist Mel Schacher, “The God of Thunder.” Other all-star band members include Max Carl (vocalist), Mark Chatfield (guitarist), and Tim Cashion (keyboardist) — contributing to the continued success of megahits like “I’m Your Captain/Closer to Home,” “The Loco-Motion,” and “Some Kind Of Wonderful.”
